Dec. 20, 2016 – World Trade Center Arkansas officials are sounding a call to action to women throughout the state to join them at the 6th Global Economic Summit in Mumbai.
President and CEO, Dan Hendrix and director of Africa and Middle Eastern trade relations, Denise Thomas of the World Trade Center Arkansas are urging the professional women of the state to join their team at the 6th Global Economic Summit at the World Trade Center in Mumbai, India from March 27 – 29, 2017.
The theme of the 2017 Global Economic Summit will be “Women Empowerment: Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Capacity Building.”
“We are sounding a call to action for Arkansas women professionals to embark on an empowering opportunity,” Thomas said. “This is a chance for them to expand or grow entrepreneurial potential in an increasingly globalized world.”
Global professionals gather at the 5th Global Economic Summit at the World Trade Center in Mumbai, India in November 2015. The theme was “Enabling Food for All.”
There will be six educational sessions over a three day period. As a participant each business will have the opportunity to have business to business meetings with potential buyers, sellers and meet with other companies that may be of interest. This trade mission is supported by the United States Department of Commerce, Little Rock, Arkansas and Gold Key services can be made available.
“These sessions will be covering the most significant global issues that women will face this century,” Thomas added.
The sessions will cover topics such as redefining the role of the new woman in the world of trade and business, empowering women through skill development for economic inclusion, women’s contribution to the small business sector through entrepreneurship and innovation and women’s role in transforming rural economy and harnessing economic inclusion.
Thomas will give an informative presentation at this event and so will Angela Marshall-Hofmann, former trade counsel for the Senate Finance Committee and current president of World Strategies, LLC. in Bentonville.
In addition to these sessions, there will be opportunities to attend a gala dinner and view live displays of art, culture and crafts.
